Hi... I haven't logged onto AddictMUD in 10+ years. Is it possible to restore a character that old? Username: "Evilflame". My healer was under the username "Bloodflame".

I remember all the endless nights playing as a teen. I then joined the military (8 years). From then, pretty much everything online related that I built up was put aside due to my new priorties. I'm trying to regain bits and pieces. This MUD was a big part of my life then, so it easily came to mind.

I remember starting off by defeating the minotaur with a "chessboard" (I believe dealt 16.0 damage) someone gave me, to dropping all my savings to winning an auction for an "Aura of Power", to screaming my ass off in joy to defeating Zeus... who actually loaded with the "Bolt of the Gods".

If you had the option to enter your email address when you first started, you could easily get the password sent to you. My guess is that back then, that option wasn't included in the new character generation process.

It would be best for you to mudmail Brazil with any details that you may remember with your characters and he can help restore access.

If you have any questions about the game (i.e. need directions to areas, help with eq) give a holler or post on this board and I will be more than happy to help.

Also, you will find that people on this mud are very generous with getting newbies started so don't be shy about asking for help.

That old of a character will be hard to recover, because of all of the changes that has happened since then.

If you can give me a good date range when your characters existed, I can see if we still have a backups from that time (we have a lot of backups from random points on DVD's).

The names are familiar - but it's been a looong time.

Come on BACK! What are you waiting for... seriously! Almost 100% of the things you mentioned are still in the game. And MORE. We allow levels up to lvl 65 now. We have remortable races now. You can add more equipment slots via remort. We have cooler items, skills and spells than ever before.

Personally, I find it much easier to level than back in the old days - so getting up to speed on a brand new character won't be as much of a burden as it used to be. Also, our players are more helpful than ever before - I'm sure they (including my own morts) would help you out.

And if not, at least visit the forum and wax nostalgic with the old vets like myself.
